The smoothest drive ever....

We thought we were going out to buy a PHEV, but we didn't like either the Volvo XC40 or the Kia Niro. Driving the ID.3 was fabulous by comparison, smooth, quiet, nimble & quick. 4k miles later we have no regrets. We charge at home for peanuts from solar PV or Octopus Go Faster tariff. On recent visits to Scotland, we have found free public 50kW chargers at destinations and in public car parks.

The interior of the ID.3 is a bit pared back (the lack of proper rear window switches on the driver's door seems particularly mean) but it's roomy and comfortable. The matrix headlights are sensational, the ACC works well (once you understand about its reading of speed limit signs) and the 2 driving modes (D with no regenerative braking, B when you want it) are simple to use and effective. I've only scratched the surface of the options available through the software - they're endless. As a keen motorist who's held a licence for 50 years and owned & enjoyed many classic cars in that time, I had my doubts about the transition to BEVs, but the ID.3 has overcome them all.
