Great car, r****** software.

I actually like this car but have been seriously let down by VW software.

Bought the car with VW offering Over The Air (OTA) updates rather than taking it into dealer.

In late Septemberish time 2022, they offered OTA update to version 3.0. Lots of failed updates resulting in cars being uplifted and taken to service centres for repairs.

Early this year VW stopped OTA update to 3.0 and recommended taking car to service centre. Contacted service centre in first week of May and got booked in for update on 17th July - advised that they had been having problems with updates and, instead of 24 hours, they were allowing up to five days per update per car.

On Friday 14th July I received phone call from service centre stating "Yet another car completely shut down during update - fifth or sixth - we are doing no more updates. Contact nearest VW High Voltage centre."

Contacted centre and now booked in for update on 27th March 2024 - again they are projecting five days per car!

Anyone want to buy an iD3 - will seriously buy another brand such as Kia after r****** VW service.
