Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer (2008 - 2017)
2.0CDTi 163ps Auto 5dr Estate
Classy but problematic
Bought this for the price alone, fact that I got the top of the range Elite was a bonus. HOWEVER, the joy wasn't to last. Battery failed on a sleety December afternoon, so got to motor factors and fitted new one (a bit of a tight fitting location). Noticed dip/main headlight on that side didn't work afterwards so thought I might have knocked something but when I left it in for a service they informed me the adaptive unit had gone...900 to replace !!!! I'm still driving on DRLs until I find a cheaper fix.Next up was rad leak that got worse over the week I had to wait for a replacement a/t compatible rad. After that was fitted and I collected it, I noticed transmission didn't seem 'right' but let it go as I needed car next day. Driving home next day car lost drive on a bend but drive came back for another 20 mins after which 'Service Transmission' light came on and it slowed to a halt. Dealer diagnosed a split washer allowed the ATF to p*** out, fixed but some transmission issues persisted so they 'reprogrammed' the transmission and all seemed well. Today though the transmission light came on and it stayed in (3rd?) all the way back to the dealer......'Know issues with that transmission' the technician says (but a free fix ??) .....to be continued
