Toyota Yaris (2011 - 2020)
1.33 VVT-i Icon 5dr Hatchback
The car everyone you know will love (and you secretly will too)
I'm going to start by saying why everyone else loves my Yaris!
Firstly, my parents love the fact it has 7 airbags and a 5* safety rating. Then there's my dogs, who love the fact that the boot is nice and spacious. My mates like the fact that getting 5 fully grown adults in it is actually easy and comfortable, and on road trips they love the bluetooth audio, meaning anyone can be DJ! They also love the fact that when you return from a 220 mile roadtrip it only needs £21 to fill the tank up. Yes you read that right, on a motorway run 5 up with AC on all the way I averaged over 55mpg. My insurance company love it because they think I'm very unlikely to crash it, and my wallet loves it because, being a Toyota, I'll probably never pay for more than a routine service. My mates at the sailing club love the fact you can get a small boat on the roof, and plenty of sails in the back too!
So with everyone else satisfied, what is there to keep me happy with my Yaris? I like the practicality, affordability, and especially the fact I can literally do anything with it! 200 mile motorway journey without a stop? Easy! Commute across central Birmingham? Piece of cake! Bounce along some potholed Devon country lanes or winding B roads? A pleasure!
Its just a brilliant all round car, that can be had for comparatively little money. I bought mine as approved used from a dealer, 2 years old with 45k motorway miles. I walked in 2 days before the reg plate changed and haggled them down from £9995 to £7000. Oh and they threw in 0% finance and a free service. Considering it still had over 3 years and 55000 miles of warranty left on it, there's not much that you can get for what I paid.
