Ecellent Fuel Consumption But...

This is the second small car which I purchased over the past two years. It is a 2014 model driven primarily on rural winding roads and most days will not go further than 2 miles so consumption can be high. The previous car was a Corsa which produced only 22 mpg while this car with the same usage produces a generous 52 mpg! I much prefer large saloons but for a small car the front end of the car to the rear of the front seats is reasonably spacious but thereafter the space is tight and particularly so with the rear seats. When driving, the car tends to wander and it also has blind spots at both the front off and near sides when turning left angled bends; this is particular the situation on unlit country roads, indeed, I regard this as a serious design fault. This may not be an obvious fault but it exists; I find that I am either striking the edge of the road or finding myself in the middle of the road when the car should be on the nearside. It is not a driver's fault. The car when driven is too noisy to have the radio on. It is not a comfortable experience when driving but then I am 14.5 stone in weight and 6 feet tall. As I wear leathered soled shoes my right foot slips off the accelerator too easily (automatic) and sometimes my shoe catches beneath the brake pedal, features which never occurred in other cars and which tends to be dangerous. My shoe size is 11. I would not wish to drive this car any reasonable distance. It does hold the road nicely at speeds between 80-90 mph when overtaking. When entering and alighting the rear suspension is noisy. It is not a car which I enjoy; next purchase I hope to return to the larger models.

Having had this car for 21 months and having clocked just over 7000 miles during this time it probably could be said that the engine has barely been broken-in. Regrettably its consumption has dropped to 42.5 miles over the past relatively mild winter. The cost of running it has otherwise been very low which is a plus but other than this what I wrote previously stands.

My attention, more lately, has been drawn to the PCH offers which in my calculation is the cheapest and possibly the best way to finance a car and I would welcome Honest John's opinion. I like what I read about the Mazda 3.especially its 2.5 models although may settle for a lower consumption one. Anyone interested in buying an Icon Plus 1.5 VVT-I Hybrid 100 CVT Auto 5dr Hatchback, showroom condition and at current dealer's price?
