Toyota Yaris (2006 - 2011)
TR 1.33 VVT-i 5dr Hatchback
Fantastic, Endlessly Reliable, Comfortable, Just the right size
Love my Yaris. It’s comfortable and reliable transport. This is the third Yaris I’ve owned. I love these small cars. They are exactly the right size and cost virtually nothing to run being economical and a very low insurance group.
I had a Multi Mode Yaris 2006. The mechanicals of that car where fantastic with not a problem apart from the actuation of the gearbox which let me down regularly. Best to avoid the MMT all together.
I did buy a 2012 1.33 Yaris SR, but I found the way it drove completely inert. The steering lock on that car was horrendous too, plus the whole thing felt very light weight and not built like the older model.
I would recommend the second generation Yaris to anyone. The 1.33 engine is super smooth and really quick when you explore the upper revs and the VVT kicks in.
I believe I have a car that should run reliably for 20 years or so. They really are that good.
