Toyota RAV4 (2013 - 2019)
2.5 Hybrid Business edition plus
Exceeding expectations
recently purchased 16 plate with only 5k miles on the clock.
Whats good:
Drivetrain. hybrid is very smooth and refined, averaging 48 mpg but on more than one short urban journeys Ive recorded 70 mpg for the trip. And the biggest suprise from reading reviews - in sport mode this car really does shift, it feels quicker than the Lexus GS250 v6 I traded in.And in normal mode its can be quite nippy.
Practicality: Given the car isnt huge in terms of exterior dimensions the interior is very well packaged. Im 6 ft 2 and am comfortable with space in the front, lots of space in the rear and boot is also good. Hybrid battery takes some room from the non hybrids, but this isnt an issue at all.
Driving. So relaxing to drive, hybrid is very smooth and just sorts itself out. Seats are very comfortable. Visibility is excellent. Some, but very little, body roll if you push on but that's not what this car is about. Ride is generally good but a little jiggly at low speed on our awful roads, better at speed though. Above 50 there is some road noise but SUVs being a big cabin tend to be a little noisy in my experience. Also this is exaggerated by such a refined powertrain.
other: infotainment works well, and easy to use. personally really like the dash design, ergonomics good, build quality good, some materials a bit cheap but solid and really in areas you dont really touch anyway.
Summary: This is a fine family car with very reasonable running costs, add in 5 year warranty and Toyota reliability, you wont be disappointed
