Toyota RAV4 (2006 - 2013)
Petrol 2.0vvti xt4 4wd
Reliable and Exceptional in bad weather.
Purchased from Inchcape derby with 25k on clock, have covered 20k more without so much as a bulb going. Getting around 35mpg on short runs, 40-45mpg on motorways at 70mph.
Good points-
Extremely well made, everything still works at ten years old with no rattles or squeaks when driving.
Very comfortable, seats offer excellent support and adjustment, able to seat 4 with ease for long periods of time due to excellent cabin space and flexibility with all seat positions.
Toyota reliability is legendary, no faults in 2 years of ownership.
Fantastic in the snow on the stock Yokohama m+s Geolander tyres, feels very confidant and safe in poor road conditions.
Have yet to find anything this car will not do, even managed to fit in a tall fridge freezer.
Dealer service has been exceptional, so good in fact that since taking ownership 4 close relatives have now changed to Toyota/Lexus.
Bad points-
Suspension is on the firm side, hit a pothole and you will know about it, this does however make it very confident on winding roads.
VED is nearly £300 a year! Makes it more frustrating when you hit the potholes.
The later model check strap you can fit to open the boot fully is £100 pounds but only takes a few minutes to fit and aids read access considerably.
I find the throttle peddle to be a little high off the floor when cruising after a few hours.
Overall, Exceptional.
