Lovely car ruined by incompetent engine design
Expected it to burn some oil as you have warned of the problems attached to these engines in your reviews. Very keen on the car as a big Carina fan in the past. The amount of oil it burn was astonishing. A litre every 150 miles. Manifold exhaust catalyst had to be replaced ( not Toyota one was £360...Toyota wanted £900). Car would not rev above 4000 rpm; that was traced to a kink in the fuel line (!). Ayway piston ring failed at 76,000 miles. Car was in wonderful condition apart from the engine. Too expensive to repair. Sc***. Bought for £2200 April 2015.
