Skoda Superb (2015 - 2024)
1.5 Tsi 150 SEL Executive auto
Excellence on wheels
My previous car was a Mercedes C207E400 that I really loved but it was a low 2 door coupe.Totally trouble free in 40000 miles and beautifully built.I wanted a change of car and the cost of the new model was prohibited to me re cost of vehicle.
A friend of mine runs numerous Skoda cars and he lent me a Superb to evaluate !
Now for me the elephant in the room for me was going from a Mercedes to a Skoda as I hate to admit it but I am a badge snob.
Finding a petrol model was not easy but I found a pre owned examples with full service history and a one owner car at a local Skoda dealer.
The build quality of the Skoda may not be in the Mercedes class but it does run the the German brand very close. The internal space can only be described as cavaous and special attention to rear leg room and boot capacity needs to be mentioned.I find the seating and ride to be better than my previous car and the toys provided as standard are excellent.I acquired the car to go touring and easily achieve 55 mbg but I do use 97 / 99 octane petrol.I changed the tyres to Michelin Primacy 4+ and that was a wise move.
If you are looking for a driver's car the dashboard does allow you to play with suspension changes / sport setting / economy and normal setting. The infotainment system is more than satisfactory for me and the heating adjustments does have knobs. The climate control works well and does have a cleansing cycle.
As with any pre owned car check the specifications carefully and check what you want is on the car.
I do feel a little mean in my next comment but the headlights on my car are Bi Xenon and while they do work satisfactorily they are not matrix in performance.
