Skoda Octavia (2013 - 2020)
1.5 TSI 150ps SE L Act 5dr Hatchback
Jerky ride due to 1.5 engine issue
The 1.5 TSI appears to have a serious problem which is mentioned on several forums across the VW group, which i can personally confirm. A few words to describe the non smooth operation of the 1.5TSI are 'kangaroo' 'jerky' 'jolts' 'bumpy', all seem appropriate for the cars performance, most noticeable in low gear and extremely bad in colder conditions.
After purchasing car in October 2017, i noticed the issue and put it down to 'getting used to' the new car. As the temperatures started to drop, the car became worse and went back to dealer. The common responses, as i have now learnt were 'no problem with car', 'not able to recreate issue' etc.. . . After several visits to dealer, i received confirmation of 'a known issue'. That was over 12 months ago, as another winter approaches, the problem is again ridiculous. The last i heard from dealer, is a fix may be available in April 2019. After reading comments from other owners, it is very clearly a BIG issue, that VWG have been trying to ignore. Terrible customer service from Skoda, spoils what could be a great car. Potentially an accident waitig to happen when pulling out of junctions.
