SEAT Ibiza ST (2010 - 2017)
1.6SE CR TDi
I love it
It was a toss up between the Skoda Fabia, Peugot 307Estate, Golf Estate and the Ibiza ST. Couldn't afford the Golf Estate, Didn't like the styling of the Skoda, Peugot history not good, fell in love with the Ibiza ST. So bought brand new, shame I think I have a friday afternoon car! Either that or my supplying dealer, who has now gone bust, didn't set it up right! Seat Head Office have come through trumps... They have made it possible for a courtesy car to be supplied to me for weeks while the new dealer awaits updates from Seat in Spain. It turns out I have to have a new ECU. Expensive, but I am not paying....
It took me to Italy in February with my kids on a tank and a half of fuel. I am hoping that after the new ECU I will do it on less... They say 67 mpg, but it struggled to average 50mpg at the end of an 800 trek! Doing the journey again in the summer so can update after! Has good oomph to get out of a tricky situation, or for over taking, boot space is plentiful, getting a towbar put on the car next week so I can take all 3 bikes to Italy without sticking them on the roof... Despite the fuel consumption not being as advertised, and the few glitches that are being sorted out, I love my car. Having had a Leon for 7 years prior to this, I only changed to increase fuel consumption, and lower the road tax bracket. That I surely did! My old car was verging on £190 per year, this is £30 per year... If that doesn't make you change your car, what will!
