Excellent small estate car

Our previous car was a VW Golf V5 (Mk IV) and we were a little apprehensive that the Ibiza ST would lack power in comparision but we need not have been concerned. The 1.2 TSI engine with DSG Auto gives a great drive and the gear change is so smooth that it gives the impression that it is always ready to take off with plenty in reserve. The steering is light and responsive and we had no problems in the recent snow and icy conditions.
The load capacity is impressive for a small car (although it is 3 inches longer overall than our previous Golf). We are able to fit my wife's mobility scooter in the boot without lowering the rear seats (it fits across the width of the car and this was not possible in the Golf) and that enables us to accommodate two grand-children with their luggage as well as the scooter. A very useful improvement on the Golf.
The space in the front is good and it gives a comfortable ride, the rear seat space is limited but with three diagonal seat belts is OK for short journeys. The dash is clear and audio controls on the steering wheel are an added benefit. The storage in the cabin is limited but the cooling facility in the glove box will come into its own when we have some warm weather!
Our only regret is that the specification on our model included a docking station for a TomTom One that will not accept our existing TomTom XL. We are hoping that either SEAT or TomTom will introduce an adaptor to allow us to use the TomTom XL without trailing leads to the 12v connection!
Overall we are very pleased with the car and no longer wish we had kept the old Golf. The service from the Dealer could not be faulted and we are satisfied with our experience of buying our first SEAT although we have had many VW's previously.
