Renault Clio (2013 - 2019)
Expression+ ENERGY TCe 90 Stop and Start 5dr Hatchback
Nice Drive, light on fuel, a bit snug at the back, tougher than it seems!
I have had my Clio for just over a year and purchased it with the intent of getting lower fuel bills on my drive to work.
Average fuel consumption is between 5.9 and 6.4L /100 km, for long distance ( 2500km round trip from CPT to JHB ) my fuel consumption was at 4.5 L /100km! This was with 3 grown men passengers, a full boot and at an average speed of 120 km/hour
The car is currently at 26000 km and has had its first service at 15000km, next due at 30000km with no issues during the first service.
The turbo makes the car nice to drive and put some voema into your drive.
Overtaking at high speed (130km/h) is a bit of a job to do as you need to be in the the right rev zone and this needs some work to get the turbo to do it's thing. This could also be dangerous if a new driver attempts it for the first time (like i found out). Once at speed, though it's drives smoothly and quietly. I have pushed the limit and hit 170km/h (downhill, no passengers :)
We had a bit of a fender bender with the front of the car and sustained little to no visible damage, though the other car's rear bumper was badly damaged. So the front grille is built stronger than it looks :)
With small kiddies the rear window sill is quite high and only my 10 year old is able to barely see out the rear door window. The plasticky door panels might be awful to touch but clean easily (crayon and food messes). be aware that the door panels front and rear tend to scratch a bit too easily.
The car has no rattles or squeaks like i have read on the other forums except the turbo rumbling after an abrupt turn-off of the ignition - after going a bit fast. other than that it's a pleasure to drive, and i would recommend it highly!
