Overall reliability
Great car but poor reliability
First of all the good stuff :
Beautiful styling, smooth, quiet ,powerful, great with the top down, handles surprisngly well for a big car.
On the other hand....
22mpg,and deep pockets required to keep up with the cost of the all too frequent problems and for a car of this supposed quality this is inexcusable. On the plus side no boot leaks unlike the other contributor to this column.
E classes are known to have massively improved in quality after August 2006 so maybe this applies to the SL but a Mercedes warranty would be a must if I ever bought another.
