Mazda CX-5 (2012 - 2016)
2.2D SE-L 2WD 5dr SUV
Excellent car but with a joke of a Bluetooth setup
This car drives really well, light responsive controls, slick gear change, well weighted pedals and steering.
In the wet however this was a monster ready to slide out from under you, even with good tyres. Suspect, due to the lightweight engine, it's a bit poorly weighted on the front.
Pretty good on fuel and pulls eagerly from very low revs in each gear and the engine emitted pleasant noise!
Main issue I had was with the Bluetooth unit, this controls the phone functions and the USB music input. It was a joke, starting from USB track one every time after minutes of waiting and also you couldn't do anything with your phone for about 2 minutes after every startup, while it "acquired phone data". That was even with an up-to-date Bluetooth module.
Also we had a new turbo fitted under warranty because the control valve between the main and sub turbo fell apart of it's own volition. So avoid cars with Honeywell turbos if you can.
