Good but could be so much better

Bought the car new from a dealer in 2012. No follow up from the dealer although I was promised a contact within 14 days of purchase. Minor early problems and have to say the original dealership was poor.
Now use my local dealership, Bengrys of Leominster who have been brilliant.
Now the car. I have completed about 13,000 miles and have, generally, been very pleased. I find the ride good, extremely comfortable with excellent road holding and handling. The car is extremely easy to drive and long journeys are a pleasure. The fuel consumption is showing just under 40mpg overall, although a recent return journey on 'A' roads registered nearer 45mpg.
Certainly don't like the idea of a lack of spare wheel. I tried to buy a space saver, but Mazda could not deliver or give a date for same. They were certainly far from helpful. Eventually bought a full size spare which is lodged in the boot. Ok for me as normally only two on board, but not ideal for a family.
Various issues with some of the electrics. I- stop seems to have a will of its own and re starts of its own volition. Yesterday the master warning light showed with instructions to rotate the wheels, evidently this linked in with a tyre pressure warning and had to be returned to the dealer for correction.
Biggest problem has been with Tomtom as 'Live' services will not operate. Although this was evidently known to Mazda at the beginning of the year they appeared [March] to have no knowledge of the issue and left me to deal with Tomtom direct. It was not until I had written to their President in Japan that I had some response [May]. Mazda UK have been very poor and certainly not what I would expect from a major manufacturer. I am now the lucky recipient of fortnightly calls from a very pleasant staff member at Mazda who apologises, thanks me for my patience and then goes on to explain that the matter has still not been resolved. It is admitted that cars are still being sold with this unit, apparently still potentially faulty, as my suggestion of a replacement tomtom met with the response that Mazda would not want to do that in case it also turned faulty. I am now led to believe that they have closed the file on this!!!!!
Certainly if you need use of a reliable Satnav then Mazda would appear the one to be avoided.
