Mazda 6 (2008 - 2012)
2.0 TS 4dr Saloon
Excellent family car and good to drive
This is my 7th Mazda in our family in 20 years and my 2nd 6, and all have been reliable, practical and sometimes fun transport. The 2009 6 is good to drive with responsive steering and firm (but not uncomfortable) suspension. The interior has a huge amount of space (we are a tall family) and the boot is massive. I don't miss the hatchback at all, and find the saloon slightly better looking. Performance isn't bad, and I average 33mpg with about 60% city driving. Service costs are not bad, and the local dealer has always been great.
A few negatives, the alloys are corroding (happened on my last 6) despite these being new replacements from the dealer two years ago. The interior has developed a few irritating squeaks, and there is a bit too much road noise on some surfaces. Overall though, a really good car, nothing has gone wrong, and I enjoy driving it. It is also a good looking thing.
