Overall reliability

Superb quality, exactly what I expected.

I leased this car brand new for my wife when we relocated to Dubai. We are both immensely satisfied with the car. It is not particularly fast or exciting to drive but it is a soothing, calm and luxurious place to be. The quality of the interior fittings, trim and especially the paintwork is truly superb and cannot be faulted.

Dislikes are the tight rear space and silly small boot. We are a childless couple so we dont need a big car but the boot should be bigger. In the UAE all UX's come with a spare tyre which reduces the boot space. The rear door cards are also not as nice as the fronts specifically because they are not soft touch which seems a bit mean. The base model has only a 7 inch infotainment screen and the backup camera picture quality is poor. Some of the centre console plastics also mark quite easily which is a bit disappointing.

Likes are it is relatively economical (driven mainly in the city) and has not shown any problems so far. The ride is plush, with little wind or road noise getting into the cabin. The front seats are also very comfortable with lots of (electric) adjustment. The CVT transmission is better than expected. On a light throttle it behaves like a CVT while a heavier foot switches it to behaving more like a conventional auto, the best of both worlds. The much criticized touchpad infotainment system works better than its given credit for. Once we both got used to it we liked it more than the touchscreen in our other car. The Android Auto functionality works very well. I cannot stress again how much we like the quality of the car especially the paintwork. Its supposedly self healing and does not show a single mark or swirl as yet which is telling when compared to our other car an Abarth 595 which marks at the slightest touch.

While its not especially fast it is more than powerful enough and we look forward to super reliability as the car ages. The handling is acceptable especially when taking into account the plus ride. Overall we rate this car highly, so much in fact that I will consider an RC300 as a replacement for the disappointing Abarth which is especially telling coming from me, an Italian car lover.
