Hyundai i10 (2014 - 2019)
1.2 cc premium 5dr
Very good dependable
I have found this car to be one of the best small cars i have driven. The car is comfortable to drive short and also long distance which to be honest was a surprise. I find the car enconimcal to use and most of my driving is commuting to work through minor roads its now in the winter months so you would expect a little less and i get on average 48.6 m.p.g, in the summer it steps upto around 50 m.p.g , on a very long run down motorways on hols etc.. you can expect around 55 m.p.g . I brought form a dealership i have also the 5 year service plan which i pay around £19.99p a calander month for which now includes the m.o.t fee.i feel the spec i get in this premium model is good blue tooth, projection headlights so they turn and light up on tight turns, cruise control and a pretty good aircon system. The steering is light and the gearbox is slick and smooth to use.
My only negatives are the boot is alittle small , when i brought the car the brakes were abit rusty and also somtimes the brakes can stick on if its damp outside or its rained etc.. which was at some point a pain trying to move the car , also i had alittle rust on the back rear passenger door where the door seal meets, but all was done under the 5 year warranty at my local dealership in tunbridge wells so fair dos,Its a good 1.2 cc kappa engine , a long life timing chain so basically it saves on haveing the timing belt changed every so many miles which can be costly so if you decide to look at the i20 which i will next time for something slightly bigger i would consider this engine again if you just need somthing to get you from A to B, or a turbo version perhaps to consider for a slightly quicker getting away at the lights but looking at the reviews m.p.g theres not much in it really.I have driven the 1ltr i10 version 3 pot a few times ,but i felt the engine was struggling especially when you put the aircon on for the extra cost and very slightly less m.p.g go for the 1.2cc model. I would of had the car nearly 5 years in september this year 2020 and i had promised a review from when i last wrote my first review about the purchase of my i10 4 years plus ago.hope this helps any potential buyers.
