Hyundai i10 (2014 - 2019)
1.2 Premium 4-door Auto
Impressive package for a small budget car
The i10 is often described as a city car, but we live in a very rural area with poorly maintained lanes. For a small car it gives us a very comfortable ride on these roads. On main roads/motorways, the car is smooth and quiet. Interior space is ample for two front seat occupants, and the back seat will accommodate two further adults, albeit without too much long distance comfort. But for two adults and two children it's fine.
I'm glad we bought the 1.2 engine, which is responsive and nippy, and it's reassuring to have a torque converter automatic gearbox, without all the worries of more modern, less reliable technology.
A small gripe: the car has cornering headlights which are a real safety benefit, but why do these only operate on dipped beam - not on main beam? We also have Kia C'eed with these lights, which operate on both dipped and main.
All in all this is a fine little car, with the added benefit of five years warranty.
