Overall reliability

A superb family car that swallows up everything and will take you anywhere you want to go.

The main reason for buying the cr-v was I needed something that was easier to get in and out of with a higher seating position.
I did my research and being a Honda owner a number of years ago went to test drive a few CR-V.
The first was a early 2002 model that had over 100,000 miles. It drove well but had really light steering and was a little careworn plus the main dealer it was at were quite aggressive and pushy to say the least.

After lots of searching I found the 2006 CR-V that I bought. The steering is 100% better than the early ones I test drove. So far its early days of ownership its gone everwhere I wanted it to and has been superb.
Overall fuel economy around town is about what I expected for a 2.0 petrol with a automatic gearbox and a large bodyshell.
Luckily the car I bought has all the extras I wanted plus some more so its the perfect car for me.
As a family car with lots of space and with the ability to go where we want.
I doubt I could have bought a better car for my needs.

edit:

as a follow up the car has just passed another mot without issue. Overall the car has needed a new battery as the old battery was getting a little tired. Other than that its needed little more than regular servicing and is still giving great service.
The fuel economy around town is a little low but the cars plus points outweigh the fuel economy as it can be used as everything from everyday family car to makeshift van with the rear seats folded.
