Sturdy and reliable

I bought one of the first diesel CRVs in April 2005. Twelve years and 163000 miles later it performs exactly the same. The bodywork and mechanicals are in excellent shape. The dual mass flywheel required replacement. And the brake discs too. It is serviced at a backstreet garage who find it easy to maintain.
Wonderful diesel engine, 40mpg economy in town with torque aplenty for overtakes.
In van mode I have transported a gas cooker and a fridge together, and squeezed bicycles and three metre lengths of wood inside with the windows closed. It swallows anything.
With the rear seat up we love the walk through floor space.
The four wheel drive may be the of the most basic type but this car kept going through deep snow that defeated every other car in the street.
I love it.
