Ford S-MAX (2006 - 2015)
Titanium X Sport 2.0 TDCi (163ps) Powershift 5dr People Carrier
Sporty fun with 7 seats
I changed from a 2.0 petrol Focus to the hi power 2.0 Turbo diesel S-Max. The Focus was known for it`s handling and the S-max builds on this. Even though I have the sports model it is very comfortable yet show it a empty country road it shrinks around you and provides unbelievable driving pleasure for something this big. No body role and so much grip you could slide off the sports seats. I have almost every extra , the advanced cruise control is great for long trips and I would recommend the reversing Camera given the view out through the privacy glass. With auto lights , wipers , blind spot detection ,, lane warning , sat nav , all easily useable this is a Hi tech vehicle and very impressive. I was going to get the 240bhp petrol as it was the cheapest but trying a work car was dissapointed with the 35mpg at best. So instead paid out for the 163 diesel. This is a great engine. Silent in the cabin and with effortless power even when fully loaded. In conjuction with the Powershift gearbox it is a great combination. Auto mode is very smooth , sports or manual mode for when you want to play reward with quick shifts. MPG Worst 38 best 49 , these are manual calculations when filling the tank. Down side , no spare wheel. So when a Michelin exploded , no amount of tyre goo would fill the hole , so had to limp to a tyre fitters but unless you want a small tyre and jack in the boot (as the underfloor space is too small) you have to live with it. So with two tall teenagers and two golden retrievers the S-Max is popular with all who travel in it
