Brilliant car!

Some so called 'professional reviewers' don't surprise me when I read their reviews, they are mostly Ford bashing. I had driven the previous model 2 Lit TDCI remapped to 170PS and loved every minute of driving it for the company and holidays. I had £25k to spend on a car and looked at BMW's, Passat's, Mazda 6, Skoda's et al, I decided to go left field and buy a new Mondeo. Having secured a great cash deal through Happynewcar.com, I added the Titanium X pack (leather, LED headlights, electric front seats), self parking, pedestrian avoidance, high power TDCI, auto box with twin clutch, upgraded stereo etc. What a tremendous car this is! I also have a BMW 330i Convertible, and to be honest I enjoy driving both cars equally. The Ford is remarkably fast and with 450 Nm of torque the acceleration is eye opening. It is easily the quietest, most comfortable car I have ever driven. The sports seats are superb. Some pro reviews knock the steering and handling, saying it has lost some of its sparkle etc. Don't believe a word of it. What they mean, I think, is the car is so refined you are not quite so in touch with the road. If this was a BMW, it would be praised for the smooth, quiet and quick drive. Ford can't win! Yes it is big, but it is nimble. The steering is not quite as precise as that on my girlfriend's 2015MX5, but I wouldn't expect it to be. On A and B roads, its cornering abilities belie its size. It is too easy to spin up the front wheels from a standing start if you have a heavy right foot. Motorway driving is effortless, I have never driven a Rolls but it can't be much better than this. The gear changes are barely noticeable and switching to sports mode turns the car into a different animal. The interior is classy and the materials are excellent and more that adequate. OK the touch screen does get covered in fingerprints but then again, so does the screen on my smart phone. Ford should fit the rotary controller as fitted in the Mazda range, but the voice control works very well, if you can remember the correct commands! The number and layout of buttons on the steering wheel is confusing. It was confusing on the previous model and I assumed the Ford would improve it on this model, but they have made it worst. I would be pleased to assist Fords designers design the next generation!! The Sony hi-fi is excellent but could be a little better. I notice that future Fords will have B&O equipment. The sub in the boot is a little woolly and would cost around £800 to replace and upgrade. DAB is brilliant and iPod connectivity is excellent, but the Sync2 user interface could be and should be better. Ford should upgrade it to the Sync3 software as a FOC upgrade. So, to sum up, I am pleased that I didn't listen to the doomsayers and bought what is an up market, sporty limo that can carry five people and all their luggage in comfort that only cost £25,000. I would recommend this car without hesitation especially with this engine. Just ignore the snooty badge buyers!!
