Ford Ka Edge

Great car for local journeys.

Let me begin by saying that this little gem is defo not for poseurs-I`d leave them to the very similar FIAT 500-BUT,if you`d really enjoy driving a nippy fun city/local trip car-get one!
I average 45mpg locally,and tax/insurance is very cheap. If you find driving a chore tho-maybe buy something else-the engine is Italian after all,and needs a little excitement in its life!
Be aware that room in the back is strictly kids only,but the boot is bigger than the FIAT for those shopping trips. Performance is about the same as a basic Fiesta,that comes with a very similar 1.25 litre engine,so is adequate,if no ball of fire!
But you can leave most cars way behind on corners,as the little Ford is SO nimble if needed.I love to watch larger cars turning so slowly and rather barge like behind me on corners! It does grip well,and the brakes and steering are fine-but the steering IS rather light,and may take a while to get used to.
Criticisms? The rear suspension is rather firm,and the wiper blades were useless-just replace with Bosch-simples!
Incidentally,the Edge version comes with all you really need for comfort & convenience-air con.,elec. windows,central locking and power mirrors.
