Surprised and happy

I bought the Ecosport after driving Golf MkV, 2.0 diesel for 12 years, but I retired and decided it get some equity from the Gold, which was sounding (literally) like it would need serious attention before it reached it's teenage years.
I got the mid-life upgraded Ecosport, so no spare wheel, but improved suspension.
I like the Ecosport, I've just ordered a 140 ST Line one.
The 1.0 litre engine is lively enough in daily use, it's no hot hatch, but it has plenty of power to keep up with traffic on motorways,it struck me as being eerily quiet after the rattly Golf. The suspension absorbs the worse British roads, though the steering is nicely weighted.
The mpg is not too bad, better on a longer run, though worse than a friend's Fiesta with the same engine. Since I had the Ecosport I felt it needed an extra gear, and the new one comes with six speed box.
I appreciate it is probably not for everyone, but I like it.
One thing I would change is the rear door, though I would advise Ford to avoid a top hinged hatch and opt for a split arrangement like the original Range Rover.
