DS 5 (2012 - 2018)
2.0 BlueHDi 150 Elegance Start+Stop 5dr
Capricious start but fine now.. Love it.. So different
I bought mine from a main dealer, 1-owner and 30,500 miles. '1955'Special Edition 6-speed manual. of which only 75 examples were brought into the UK. After owning 3x Rover 75's I did notice the lack of attention to engine bay design/wiring. Rainwater dropped straight through and into the fuse box with disastrous and expensive consequences. Citroën paid. The second problem was the BlueHDi pump located in the AdBlue tank under the boot floor. It packed up. Replacement £1700 for the part alone. Citroën again paid for this. So, after this, do I hate the car? Well, actually no. I put it down to bad luck. Fuel consumption between 36mpg(town) and 53mpg(long run/motorway). The watchstrap Criollo brown leather has distinctive pale blue stitching and exudes quality. It doesn't have hydropneumatic suspension which is a shame but overall the ride quality is perfectly acceptable and in keeping with the modern idiom. Much fuss too about lack of rear visibility. Again, I disagree. Never occurred to me. It's not a 'slipper' of a car, which you slide into and it drives itself. No, it's more like the old DS21,suspension apart,of which I've owned 10. A bit of a beast, a challenge... to be mastered.
