Overall reliability

Practical, very spacious and much better to drive than you'd expect.

Was looking for a robust second car when I test drove this out of interest. It's so good I decided to keep it as my main vehicle. I've had 14 cars in my time, mostly VW and this is better than any of them. It is quiet, the 90hp engine has plenty of power and it overtakes well. Laureate is under £10,000 (my demo was £8998) fully equipped with cruise control, aircon, blue-tooth, stop start, alloys, roof-rails electric windows/mirrors etc. Up to 55 (real)mpg cheap insurance £20 tax. Why buy a slow, buzzy, underpowered and tiny 69hp Ford Ka when you could have this? It has everything you find on a Skoda Octavia at less than half the price.

Drawbacks: Suspension is fairly basic and when empty the Logan doesn't like uneven surfaces at speed - but then you shouldn't be driving fast on bad roads anyway. Bit of wind-noise over 70 - but I realised that's partly because the engine is much quieter than say a Nissan Note which I drove recently for comparison. Some cheap detailing in rear and window buttons not ideally placed. Lights need to be readjusted by dealer because dipped beam wrong angle.

Outdoor enthusiasts should know that it makes an excellent micro-camper. The rear platform is not much narrower than the bed in my VW camper van and usable length is 6'6". Why bother with a tent?
