Dacia Jogger (2022 on)
Extreme SE TCe110 Start/Stop 5dr
Terrible
I loved the look and sound of this when the first press releases went out. Brilliant concept of dependable, tried and tested engineering, no frills but with still some tech worth having. Such as CarPlay etc. So put a deposit on one to replace my aging and high mileage skoda yeti, in many ways like it was the yeti’s spiritual successor.
However after 6 month wait for delivery, 4th day of ownership the handbrake failed. Multiple trips to dealer and and some insurance work the fault was corrected by software update. Although Dacia don’t acknowledge, there was a problem.
Once I got over that. I started to get on ok with the car. It drives and handles very well. It could even be described as fun. However a number of niggles got on my wick. Such as totally inadequate ventilation and heating. Making is a terrible car in winter. It is big put general poor (and low quality) design mean it isn’t as practical as it could be. Seats are pain to fold. Rear seat belts get tangled. Gaps in boot floor are magnet for dirt that interferes with seat mechanisms.
However for the price, maybe what did I expect and could maybe tolerate. Except at only 8000 miles the clutch failed. This, I have since learnt is not an isolated incident. The dealer already had 2 others with same issue. Dacia again do not acknowledge this is an issue. Luckily it is covered by warranty but has destroyed my faith in the car and Dacia.
So I am going to sell after less than 14 months ownership.
