Dacia Duster (2012 - 2018)
Laureate 1.5 dCi 110 4x4 109 5dr SUV
Fair value for money
I have written two previous reviews in the early days of ownership, including a failed gearbox on day one. As I have now had it almost two years,I will update. My Duster, called 'the bin' at home has just come back from a two week stay at The Bodyshop to sort out a rust recall. Can only assume the problem was extensive, though the Dealer was not prepared to disclose any detail. To be fair, the bin has not let me down in 19000 miles, but have always had misgivings about power delivery. Dead spots when pulling at low revs were evident, though I always assumed that was the norm. When I drove their loan car,it was completely different, despite only having 200 miles on the clock. No tightness, dead spots or lack of torque at all.Think mine needs to visit the workshop now for a diagnostic check!
I did as a matter of interest, ask for a part exchange figure against a new Duster and mine has depreciated from £16000 to £9000,though could change for £3000 to a pre reg 2 wheel drive version.
