Overall reliability

A great carrier and cruiser with space for 5 in comfort.

I am a Citroen fan, BX's, Xantia's and Picasso's so I may be biased but this example has been a great buy. I take a long European trip each year 700 to 1000 in a couple of days and it cruises very comfortably on the German motorways at 80mph without difficulty. It is easy to convert to KPH which is really good as you do not risk speeding tickets.
The seats are like arm chairs and the economy is great on the diesel both on shortish trips and long ones, I do not monitor local trips. It is a good tow car, I towed a fully loaded boat to Scandinavia and it hardly felt the extra weight.
With the rear seats folded down it can carry a host of stuff, including a washing machine last year all the way to Scandinavia.
Something's in a Citroen are a little quirky like the electronic handbrake which takes a bit of getting used to and I have the auto/manual version which is also a bit different, if you look at this version be sure to take a long test drive and do some hill starts and some reversing before you make a final decision. If the dealer does not want you to take a long test drive find another dealer.
The car has only done 30Kmiles so no real reliability experience so far.

Cautionary note 1, if you want to install a better radio be sure that it is compatible with the car's systems, I tried and found that I could not make changes to some settings and had to have the original radio re-installed.
Cautionary note 2, this is not a sports car and is a leisurely drive if you want a nippy car this is not the one for you.
