Very, very good - until the gremlins started!

Having trouble with the electronics! It is an automatic and has loads and loads of electrical gadgets. Now having difficulty in starting. Dash message says, 'Put foot on brake pedal and press START'! It doesn't ! I have to try pressing the button over and over again before it fires into life. (Dread the time that it doesn't start). Noticed that when using key to enter vehicle, the electric mirrors unopen. If they do, then it'll start. If the doors open without the mirrors coming out, expect trouble! Other nuances are electric rear door. Sometimes manually opening this and slamming it shut leads to car starting!!! Sometimes it doesn't work. If I've got it going and use it frequently for a few hours then no problems. Starts perfectly well and everything's fine. Park it up for the night and next morning it stays asleep. Just won't start again. One car electrician has been bamboozled by it (although thinks it has something to do with the electronic steer-wheel lock) and the Citroen garage want £250 just to look at it before they'll estimate how much it'll cost to repair!!
This is a real pity because the car fulfils everything I want it to.
