BMW X5 (2007 - 2013)
BMW X5 xDrive30d M
AVOID the Alluminium interior trim !!!!!!!! And THE MPG is NOT GOOD
!
MPG you will not get 30 mpg unless you drive at a constant 50mph.
Around town you will get 20-21 mpg.
I Average 25 mpg so Nothing like the advertised figures.
Be aware!!!! AVOID the Aluminium trim its garbage and not fit for purpose scratches incredibly easily and makes the interior of the car looks r****** how on earth BMW allowed that garbage to pass quality control is beyond understanding!
Any car with aluminium trim is worth £1500 less as that’s what is cost me to replace it all with the piano black trim which should be standard and looks much better!
I just wish I’d optioned it in the first place.
Avoid many options they are expensive and not worth having the panoramic roof over rated and I have a leak!
Sometimes less is more and with extras and BMW that rings true.
BMW expensive for parts and labour just like all the others now they make the money on the bits and not the cars.
I guess that's why the Ally interior trims are so r****** so you'll pay £1500 for new ones.
It's a great car once you accept the Poor Economy it handles like a saloon car and looks great.
BMW dealer service network are average and you will have to put up with long wait times for servicing and the usual UK poor standards German build but not German service technicians.
With 7 seats it's more usable than most 4x4's and better looking too.
It's large for town and parking is a problem but not as bad as Q7 GL etc.
The 20" wheels look great but for town speed bumps I've fitted 18" as the speed bumps and pot holes of London make the X5 uncomfortable with 20's I fit the 20's for summer holidays only.
No oil dip stick is bad and no temperature gauge is just silly.
Not perfect but I think it's currently the best large 4x4 with 7 seats available.
