BMW 5 Series GT (2009 - 2017)
530D GT SE Auto
Better than expected, looks great
I have owned and driven the GT for a year and love it. Handling is a little wallowey in Normal drive on tight bends, but is spot on in Sport mode, and really goes in Sport+. Fuel consumption is not what is claimed by BMW, who state 43.5 MPG on average it is doing exactly 38 mpg on average. The Auto box has eight gears and five clutches, you honestly can not tell when it is changing gear at all.The car is very smooth and has a luxury feel and the build quality is excellent. It is a big car and you can have issues parking in small car parks, as it is wide, the door mirrors are compact which helps and fold in electrically which also helps, and reversing is no real problem as some would claim. Overall the only issues are that this car is built with very tall people in mind, the head restraints sit at the back of the head and their is no neck and shoulder comfort, which can be a nuisance on long runs, I had to fit neck cushions. Love the looks and the boot is great, if you just want to slot in a suitcase then open the normal boot, if you want to fill the boot then open up the whole hatch, great idea. great load space also.
