Fast, smooth to drive, makes you feel special

We were in the market for a plug in hybrid and at that time there were few small to medium sized ones on sale. We looked at the Mini, BMW and the Kia Niro. The Mini felt gimmicky, the Kia competent but dull (we have other dull cars in our household and fancied something more interesting) and the BMW felt a nice place to be.
Performance - this car is quick. 0-60 in just over 6 seconds and plenty of overtaking capability
Economy and range - mixed town and country driving gives around 56 mpg. A long motorway run is around 40mpg; Electric range is around 20 miles in cold weather.
Practicality; not the biggest car and the rear seats don't fold down flat but the boot is reasonable and the car is comfy for 4 people. 3 in the back is a bit of a squeeze.
Handling - a fairly tall car but grips well - ride a little firm. I would recommend the 17" wheels which come with the Luxury (and maybe SE) trim. M Sport has 18" which I reckon would be too firm.
I-drive etc is great and dead easy to use.

All in all a great car.
