You can now buy an electric classic Range Rover - for just £225k

Fancy a classic Range Rover with electric power? Well Inverted, a British EV regeneration specialist, has launched its debut model - an electrified Range Rover Classic that has been restored as a high-performance, emission-free model.
Inverted will source the desired classic model, available in 2-door, 4-door, or LSE specification and work with customers to deliver a bespoke car.
And the price? From a mere £225,000+VAT. Inverted says a maximum of six examples will be built each year.
The first road-registered example of its kind in the UK, the #001 model is powered by a reconditioned low-mileage Tesla 80kWh battery module and Large Drive Unit.
As a result, the electrified Range Rover Classic produces 450bhp and 600Nm of torque, with a 0-60mph of around five seconds.
Three different drive modes, Eco, Sport and Off-Road, provide varying power outputs and regenerative brake levels. Four-wheel drive is retained and the original axles have been restored and uprated to reflect the significant increase in power.
The uprated Alcon front brakes provide the required stopping power and #001 is equipped with the optional road handling pack, featuring adjustable shock absorbers, anti-roll bars and 25% stiffer springs.
The electrified Classic model has a range of 200 miles, with a 6.6kW on-board charger and a CCS charger that can deliver up to 100kW charging, providing a 20% to 80% charge in around 34 minutes at a rapid charge point.
Each Inverted Range Rover Classic undergoes a full restoration alongside the full electrification. The exterior is returned to its former while the interior is designed to create luxury and modernity without detracting from the original features. Each car is tailored to the customer’s bespoke colour and trim specification.
The #001 model features sustainable Mocha leather from Muirhead and contrasting Harris Tweed. The car is equipped with soundproofing, air conditioning, central locking, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a reverse camera, a high-end sound system, heated seats and USB charge points.
Inverted founder and director, Harry Millington, explains that he had a passion for the classic Range Rover and a desire to future-proof this iconic model and reduce environmental impact.
"As part of this ethos, I made the conscious decision to recycle and re-use existing Tesla batteries, rather than increasing footprint with carbon intensive new modules," he added.
