Chelsea Truck Company launches Defender Heritage Remastered

Afzal Kahn, the British designer and founder of Kahn Design, has launched the new Defender Heritage Remastered by Chelsea Truck Company, priced at £89,999.

The model commemorates the 75th year of the Land Rover Defender and 25th anniversary of Kahn Design.

The Heritage Remastered is an evolution of the Chelsea Truck Company Defender Programme, a lineage of tailored Land Rover conversions dating back to 2012.

Available in 90 and 110 wheelbases, the Heritage Remastered features a three-piece lower bumper valance, painted components and arch extensions that house 22-inch body-coloured British Heritage RS-Forged Wheels.

These features culminate in the full replacement OEM+ quality Heritage lattice Grille, which required two years of development, prototyping and engineering to match the classically styled grille to the modern cues of the new Defender.

The Heritage Grille is the centrepiece of the Heritage Remastered and a nod to Land Rover’s last-of-line edition, with the contrasting 90 or 110 graphic.

The design cues include the square light signature in the current Defender’s taillights and the prominent square front grille seen on the iconic HUE 166.

The windows machined into the iconic British Heritage RS-Forged Wheels continue the square cues of the latest defender while emulating the steel wheels seen throughout the Defender’s lifetime.

The Heritage Remastered includes a three-piece lower bumper valance in homage to the full-width steel bumpers seen on previous generations of Land Rover Defender.

Adding to the styling is a contrast ivory roof and body-coloured taillight surrounds, separating the light housing to harmonise with the Heritage Grille while also matching those found on historical Defenders.

The Heritage Remastered is offered in a range of traditional tones from the “Colours of Kahn” collection, inspired by 75 years of Land Rover’s history. The vehicle features a limited-edition spare wheel cover that finishes off the exterior overhaul, bringing the numbered grille graphic to the rear.

The interior is available in a range of traditional options from Saddle Tan Leather to a Vintage Cloth Houndstooth, complete with a wood-effect steering wheel that retains all factory functionality. The Heritage Remastered vehicles are meticulously carried out at Kahn Laboratories by in-house specialist technicians and upholsterers.

The first vehicle will be on display at the flagship showroom at Albert Bridge, Chelsea, SW3, from May 2023.

I'm selling my Land Rover Defender 110 - is it worth upgrading the interior to get a better sale price?

I'm thinking of selling my Land Rover Defender 110 and what I really need is some advice regarding the condition of the car. It is in genuine original condition with no added extras, would it be more saleable if I upgraded the interior or should it be left as is? It is clean and tidy but there are no luxuries i.e. padded seats etc.
Unless the interior of your Land Rover is in poor condition, investing money into making the interior more presentable might make it more saleable but it is unlikely you will recoup much of that outlay in a better sale price. Buyers looking at Defenders should understand that it is predominantly a working vehicle and is far from luxurious, so we would suggest just making the car as clean and presentable as possible to get the best possible price.
