Geneva Motor Show 2014: Volkswagen premieres Multivan Alltrack
Volkswagen has unveiled a new all-wheel drive concept version of the Caravelle, which is highly equipped and luxuriously finished. Power comes from a 180PS diesel engine linked to a Haldex all-wheel drive system. Externally the paintwork is finished in metallic white, with 19-inch alloy wheels.
Underbody protection is fitted, along with dark plastic bumpers and protective rubbing trips. Rugged though the exterior may be, the cabin is plush, with leather upholstery, a wooden floor like that of a yacht, and aluminium trim details. There’s also a large infotainment touch screen up front and a high-end audio system.
The floor has a track on it for moving around the seats, or indeed for removing them entirely. There is a cooking box that mounts to the track, which includes a gas stove, a sink and a fresh water storage tank. It can be used outside the vehicle if needs be. Should interest in the concept be sufficient a production version could appear, but nothing is confirmed.
