Geneva Motor Show 2014: New Subaru WRX STI coming to the UK

The new Subaru WRX STI is coming to the UK. The car, which made its European debut at Geneva, will be available from May 2014 at a price of £28,995, some £4000 cheaper than the previous car, which suffered due to a poor exchange rate with the Japanese Yen.
The new WRX STI, which has a rich rallying heritage, is powered by a 2.5-litre, four cylinder boxer engine producing 305PS and 392Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
The styling has plenty of typical STI styling cues including a large bonnet scoop and oversized rear spoiler. UK buyers will get that as standard, along with 18-inch alloy wheels and a more upmarket, high quality interior than that seen in the old model.
Soft touch materials are used on the dashboard and there are metal trim elements, along with a flat-bottomed steering wheel. The all-wheel drive system is as clever as you’d expect of a fast Subaru, with active torque vectoring and vehicle dynamics control, all gear towards giving the maximum levels of grip.
