Trying toy help out a friend whos 03 reg, 1800 petrol,115000 mile Mondeo Graphite is giving him grief.

When he starts up and the engine is cold the car is running fine When the engine gets hot he starts to lose powerand the engine seems to stutter. He stops car swicthes off the engine starts up again and the engine runs fine for another few miles and then the same thing happens again. He was advised by his local garage to take it to a Main Ford dealer who would have the correct diagnostic equipment. All they could say was it may be the fuel filter which they changed. Needless to say on his way back home the problem re-occured.

Unfortunately he lives out in the wilds of Northumberland and the Ford garage is a 50 mile round trip.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
