This is a similar thread to one posted on 25 Jul by Kay Williams. It is almost certainly a scam as the wording on the email I received is identical:

If you do not already have a pay pal account set up, you can visit the pay pal website to set up an account as it is easy secure and convenient to use. I have requested the services of a freight company that will handle the pick up and delivery of the vehicle to Malaysia. Definetly a scam ,I received an identical enquirey for a car I had for sale on autotrader .
The final part of the scam is to transfer a shipping fee to an account in Malaysia ,by western union .They initially send details of a PayPal money transfer they say they have paid into your account ,they scan and alter a genuine pay pal transfer .It then looks as though they have put the money in your account ,it never arrives .
I actually followed the scam all the way through , up to the point where they requested money by western union .i wanted to see how the scam worked and I enjoyed the idea that I would be wasting thier time .I think we exchanged 6 e mails in total.
Perhaps if everyone who received an enquirey wasted thier time ,they would give up.

It never hurts to foward details to the boys and girls at 419eater.com , they get hours of fun getting under the skin of scammers, a worthy cause.

While resting from the exertions of sorting out my spice rack I visited the site - what sport! A man, posing as a woman, accepted an offer of marriage from someone in BongBongo land and got the groom to go 300 miles to meet "her" at the airport, where she never arrived natch!

I have had this email today, only the scammer claims he is now in Cyprus, but still working for Alba Phase II. I've taken your advice and gone on to the next step. Scammer asked for my Paypal details, so I told him that Paypal charge 3% for payments and added that on to my total asking price. If he is stupid enough to reply, I'll let you know

.......and he was. But I've had enough of him, so given him a few clues that I know what he's up to. Not expecting a reply - he might even read this thread, though!

Thanks for forums & notice boards like Honest John's. Have looked around a few sites by putting in the phone number & hay presto, loads more posts on this scammer.
They just picked up my add on eBay: & the email i got was as follows.

2) Send me some photos of the vehicle
I am only able to handle payment via pay pal and all i will require to make payment is your pay pal name and email id. If you do not already have a pay pal account set up, you can visit the pay pal website to set up an account as it is easy secure and convenient to use without sharing one's financial information on the internet. I have requested the services of a freight company that will handle the pick up and delivery of the vehicle to Cyprus. I have imported into Germany quite a few cars from the UK using exactly this method and never had a problem.I have just taken delivery of a BMW 3 series from a dealer in the midlands with no problems whatsoever,we always use PP as a means of transaction.
