Nissan Primera P12 - Radio Lcd and language display in Japanese - pemakarimayi

I have a 2001 nissan primera p12 and have the following problems.

1. Radio lcd very faint at times does not light up.

2. Radio lcd diplay in Japanese language

Sounds like you might need a new radio, or to learn Japanese.

I have a tino which has a similar set up, if you press the set button (near the temp setting knob) you should have 4 options on the screen, the third one down is language, if you now use the joy stick to select language you should then have 9 language options - sadly none of them Japanese !

Hope this helps in some way, but I'm not very hopefull.

Japanese is hard coded into the car. I think into the Nav DVD drive.

I presume it was imported into NZ?

On the UK Nissan Primera Owners Club site, there is a document that helps with the Japanese menus.
