Renault Scenic - Renault Scenic DCI engines - GavoTheSane

What year did Renault start putting the particulate filters on their DCi engines? I'm looking at getting an older Scenic, and don't want the particulate filter as it'll mostly be used for shorter journeys with the occasional motorway run.

Any comments on the reliability of the DCi engines?
