Hi,

Recently, I've noticed the needles on ALL the gauges on the car's dashboard go to the 'extremities' [i.e. 180mph or whatever] before quickly settling back down to the normal positions [i.e. half-full on the fuel gauge, 0mph etc] whenever I start the car.

This has been happening over the last week or two and about 50% of the time when I start the engine. It doesn't seem to matter if the engine is warm or not.

There is no other effect.

Can you please tell me why the car might be doing this and how do I fix it?
