Vauxhall Corsa, 2007, 1.2. - Stalling engine - beanstalker

I have the above and experienced something I have not experienced before although I only got the car last May. I drove my wife to work at 8am this morning and the car stalled three or four times on the way home. The total journey is 5 miles return. The revs dropped when I dipped the clutch and it stalled. The engine management light did not come on and it restarted immediately. The oil is a 10/40 semi synthetic put in by the supplying garage last May. I then took it on the motorway for a 70mph run of 7 or 8 miles each way and there was no problem at all when I had done this. The car gets mixed motoring of urban running and some out of town and motorway work. I was thinking of trying to block off part of the radiator with cardboard on the outside but this is harder than it used to be with other cars I have owned. Apart from keeping the revs up by holding on to the gears I cannot think of anything else I could be doing from a cold start. Does anyone have any thoughts on what it might be and how I could help myself?

Many thanks,

Ted Robertson
