Doors: The passenger door on my Peugeot 1007 won't open automatically and needs to be manually opened. The contacts have been sprayed with WD40 but to no avail. There is no problem with the driver's door which works fine. Seatbelts: An over-enthusiastic puppy has chewed the rear seatbelts!! Does anyone know how to fit them? There doesn't appear to be a haynes manual for this car .... or maybe there is - but we haven't come accross one yet.

These cars were a pile of problems. If the door still works then might be best to just let it be. Remember WD 40 is not a conductor or cleaning spray it just repells water and will leave a nice insulating layer of oil on the contacts. So you could try to clean these up with some contact cleaner. Or get a circuit tester, compare the voltages with the working door and then decide how it must operate

Seatbelts are generally esy to fit as only a couple of bolts and you should be able to see the mountings. Just make sure your happy with what you are doing as they are a critical safety feature and are checked on MoT

CotG is spot on, don't delve too deeply into the weird and wonderful wiring or you'll have the whole car apart, seen many of them with interiors stripped completely to find electric problems at the dealers.

Hi.

I realise this is an old thread but I'm in need of some help.

Slightly off topic but we have a 2005 Peugeot 1007 that is dead locked possibly with a dead battery.

The key will not electrically or manually open the doors. I have seen suggestions that you can jack the car up to remove the engine cover and connect jump leads to the starter motor to start it or get the electrics working and open the doors. Only problem is, the car was left in gear so it will jump forward and won't start anyway.

I'm guessing the only way in is to break a window. I was aiming for the quarter light at the front. That way I can try pulling it out of gear and turn the ignition on and hopefully manually open the doors.

Rather than breaking it, I was wondering if it can be removed. I know the front trim comes off but I don't know how. Anyone have any ideas how we can remove it or does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

Foseco.
