Parking Permit - Council Car Park - I just want a quiet life!

Dear Sir,

I have a annual contract with Nottingham City Council to park my car, in one of their open car parks.

I have a permit that should be displayed when the car is in the nominated car park.

Being the wrong end of 60 years of age, I do on occaions forget to display my permit, whcih means I can then find myself being issued with a 'ticket', (PCN).

Can you advise me if I have any recourse?

I have enjoyed this parking facility for some years now, and pay by monthly Direct Debit.

Your advices will be most welcome.

Yours,

Ray Butterworth

If you get a PCN because you've forgotten to display the valid permit that you've got, you would need to appeal the ticket giving evidence of existence of the valid permit - BUT - they're not obliged to grant your appeal as the offence is "failure to display".

Contact the PePiPoo forum for more detailed advice.

If you look at their terms and condit6ions relating to the parkeibng/permit then it will stipulate that a permit has to be displayed. Non display offence attracting a financial penalty.

You don't display then you have to accept the ticket.

Get a suitable licence holder and fix the permit to your windscreen next to the tax disc. Then you can forget about it - and enjoy a quiet life.

Well said Avant. Put the permit on permanent display and all your problems with the parking authority will be over. I used to have a security pass for entry into MOD property. No pass NO ENTRY- NO EXCEPTIONS. I once missed a mornings work by forgeting the pass, and having to go back home for it so I did what Avant is suggesting and lived happily ever after, well nearly!! Good luck. Concrete
