my hand brake is really hand to get on and still the car moves. can anyone help

FORD KA - HANDBRAKE - boggles

It needs the rear drums off for inspection. You probably need new brake shoes, but as you say it's hard to pull on, the mechanical linkage is probably siezed on it's pivots too.

hi sounds more like the cables are seized if it was the rear shoes the hand brake travel would be high is it high or low if its high then it would be the adjusters my bet its the hand brake cable try that thanks

hi again but it is a ford the adjusters are probably seized same as the cables .

FORD KA - HANDBRAKE - piston power

On the KA the 4x bolts at the back of the drum in the back plate is the ones to undo NOT the big nut at the front.

When you do this slacken off the handbrake and remove the drums.

What thickness are the shoes? Is the wheel cylinders leaking peel back the seals? does the pistons work free in the cylinders?

Now the automatic adjusters examine the teeth is there any left?

Does the adjusters move in the shoes?

Does the cables move freely?

FORD KA - HANDBRAKE - jc2

Is it a Ford KA or a "Fiat" Ford KA?
