1996 vectra sri 2000cc - air con - eddyboy

any comments.dont use air con so took air con radiator & fan out .now have basic rad & fan.the water now stays a lot cooler as nothing in the way to stop air to main rad.any one see a problom with doing this.

have kept parts incase i want to have aircon put back,the reason behind this is a cooler engine is more efficiant,it runs much better,

Why not take the engine out of your car and leave it in your shed. Your car will be much lighter and your fuel consumption will be greatly improved.....

as i said dont use air con,kept parts to put on when ever,the reason why i done this if engine runs cooler its more efficent,anyone will tell you that.

Actually, an engine runs more efficiently at higher temperatures, otherwise to improve MPG you'd just need to remove the thermostat, global warming solved!

If the problem is that the engine is OVERheating, then it's far more likely that the cooling system is becoming marginal at that age of vehicle.

Fair comment, but surely the car is reaching the end of its natural life, and so it is unlikely anyone will want to reinstate the Air con!
